Lecture by Iranian American political activist Shahriar Ahy

IIRPS VU invites you to a lecture by Shahriar Ahy, Iranian American political activist. The subject of the session is "Why the West Failed to Win Hearts and Minds". It is why the West has failed to win hearts and minds on the Russian and Arabic information superhighways, even though these are not blocked as in China and Iran. The session concludes with a specific proposal, and will move to Washington for presentation before the new Congress in January. The lecture will take place December 2 (Tuesday) at IIRPS VU (Room 402) from 11.30 a. m.

The discussion will be conducted with scholars from IIRPS VU dr. Konstantinas Andrijauskas and Ieva Koreivaitė.

IIRPS VU invites you to a lecture by professor Karen Dawisha "Putin‘s Kleptocracy". Lecture will be based on prof. Dawisha's latest book "Putin's Kleptocracy: Who Owns Russia?"

Lecture will take place on 16th of September, 17:00, room 402.

Karen Dawisha is the Walter E. Havighurst Professor of Political Science in the Department of Political Science at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and the Director of the Havighurst Center for Russian and Post-Soviet Studies.

On 8th of March, at 4:45 p.m., in room 304 the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Bert van der Lingen will give a lecture on topic “12th Precidency of the Netherlands of the Council of the European Union: objectives and the meaning for the process of European politics.” During this lecture Ambassador will answer such questions as what is the meaning of changing the lead state and what depends on it? How can we meassure the success of this presidency? He will also discuss previous experiences of the presidency of the Council of the European Union.
