We kindly invite you to the lecture "India's Foreign Policy: Challenges and Opportunities" by prof. Aparajita Gangopadhyay from Goa University which will take place on November 25 at 11:30 in the conference hall of the Institute (4th floor).

In her lecture prof. Gangopadhyay will talk about the problems and successes of the contemporary Indian foreign policy, discuss the role of BRICS, and provide her take on the possible international development of the country.


Public lecture by Jörg Wiegratz: „Power and morals: capitalism, economic fraud and social harm in Africa and beyond“.

On the occasion of International Africa Days, dr. Jor Wiegratz will give a lecture „Power and morals: capitalism, economic fraud and social harm in Africa and beyond“. Event will take place on 26th of May (Friday), at 3:00 p.m. in room 304.  Jörg Wiegratz is Lecturer in Political Economy of Global Development at the University of Leeds. He researches the political economy and moral economy of neoliberalism in Africa and elsewhere. In the seminar, he will argue that capitalism is a moral order and moral economy, i.e. has a moral grammar. Capitalism’s moral order, together with its political-economic order, has over the last centuries produced vast social harms in numerous places, from large-scale colonial slavery, imperial wars, and workplace injuries and deaths, to climate change effects. J.Wiegratz will focus on one particularly relevant case: the massive and increasing levels of economic fraud in many countries across the world, including in sub-Saharan Africa.

Focus on V4: Seminar about Visegrad Group co-operation

Open seminar about The Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia co-operation within the Visegrad Group is a joint project initiated and realised by the Polish Institute in Vilnius in co-operation with Czech, Hungarian and Polish embassies, Slovak Embassy in Riga and the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of the Vilnius University. The seminar will present tha background of V4 and cover the most important areas of co-operation, such as economy, energy, foreign and security policy, people-to-people contacts.

The seminar will take place on 10th of May 2017 at VU TSPMI in Vilnius.
